TaariMaa is a brand founded by Chitra Peña that creates Gujarati language primers for children. Inspired by her own multiethnic family, Peña developed these board books to help American born children and their parents connect with Gujarati heritage. The series uses phonetic English spellings to make the complex language accessible for non fluent speakers, ensuring traditional stories and vocabulary are passed down to the next generation.
